Glitzy Lover’s Day event The colourful event held at Rupaz Fun fitness centre in Uashin Gishu county was aimed at decamping gender-based violence in love relationships.

It brought together couples from different backgrounds and they were delighted to get time to enjoy quality moments with their loved ones.

Men should treat their women right While speaking their minds, most of the attendants advised young men to always pamper their lovers with love rather than being abusive. A retired KDF officer who has been married for 35 years told Citizen TV that most of the young men of this generation are violent partners, unlike their days.

He urged them to love their girlfriends from the bottom of their hearts. “I am married now for 35 years and I served in the KDF. I came to this event to enjoy myself with my dear wife. I don’t know why this new generation of men are just killing their girlfriends. I don’t think they understand what love is. Love should bring a fulfilling feeling,” he said. Man advises women to desist from empowering boyfriends.
